RAWALPINDI: Pakistan and China reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen their “all-weather” and “robust” ties. Chief of the Army Staff Gen Asim Munir acknowledged the bilateral relationship’s resilience in the face of challenges. President Xi Jinping reiterated China’s unwavering support for Islamabad, regardless of changes in the international landscape.
Army Chief Gen Asim Munir, speaking as the chief guest at the 96th anniversary of the founding of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) commemorated at GHQ, praised the PLA’s contributions to China’s defense, security, and nation-building. He emphasized the unique and strong nature of the Pakistan-China relationship, which has withstood various challenges.
The army chief highlighted the deep-rooted ties between the two nations, their militaries, and their peoples. He expressed admiration for the enduring nature of the Pakistan-China relationship, which has demonstrated its strength in the face of all adversities. Gen Asim Munir highlighted the strong bond between the PLA and Pakistan Army, describing them as “brothers in arms.” He emphasized that their relationship will continue to safeguard their collective interests.
Pang Chunxue, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy, expressed gratitude to the army chief for hosting the event. She praised the “all-weather strategic cooperative partnership” between China and Pakistan, which has endured the test of time and changes in the international landscape. She acknowledged the successful visits of the COAS and other military leaders to China. Such visits have further strengthened the relationship between the two militaries.
