A new six-party alliance is in the works, following in the footsteps of a previous multi-party opposition platform led by the PTI. The aim is to fully restore the Constitution, empower the elected parliament, and ensure free and fair elections.
ANP President Aimal Wali announced this during a press conference on Sunday, joined by National Party President Dr. Malik Baloch, Pashtunkhwa National Party chief Kushal Khan Kakar, Hazara Democratic Party Chairman Abdul Khaliq Hazara, and representatives from other political parties. Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) and National Democratic Movement (NDM) President Ahmed Jan Khan were also present.
Senator Wali emphasized the necessity of forming a new political alliance to address Balochistan’s issues, aiming for consensus among political parties and public support.
A joint meeting of the six political parties concluded with the decision to form this alliance, with a committee of six members tasked to initiate the process and finalize the modalities. The committee’s focus will be to engage with various segments of society, political and social organizations at both provincial and national levels.
The proposed alliance aims to launch a movement addressing both provincial and national issues, independent of electoral concerns or favoring specific parties. Its goal is to empower the people and uphold the Constitution, starting its activities in Balochistan before expanding nationwide.
Senator Wali stressed that the alliance seeks to address issues such as resource seizure under the guise of security and the common problem of missing persons among Baloch and Pashtun communities. He affirmed the alliance’s unwavering stance on these matters, emphasizing no compromise.
