RAWALPINDI / ISLAMABAD: Another case of ‘torture’ against a minor housemaid in Rawalpindi, Punjab, has been reported today.
In Rawat, Rawalpindi, an 8-year-old named Kinza underwent ‘beating’ by her lady owner and husband.
The minor housemaid’s father stated that Bakhtawar, the lady of the house, and her husband tortured Kinza, evident from wounds on her head.
Rawat police station has filed a case against the couple. SP Saddar and ASP visited the minor maid’s home for her well-being.
Authorities assured the family of justice. Despite a law against hiring minor maids, Punjab sees an increase in abuse cases.
Recently, the wife of a civil judge, Somia, allegedly brutally tortured a 14-year-old maid in Islamabad. The girl’s parents reported the case to a local police station.
Accused Asim Hafeez, demoted to OSD, reportedly tortured her maid Rizwana, accusing her of jewelry theft. Somia is presently incarcerated.
