A district and sessions judge presided over the marriage of the couple at a local court. Both Anju and Nasrullah voluntarily gave their statements under Section 164. It affirms that they entered into the marriage of their own free will. Anju expressed her happiness and willingness to come to Pakistan.

Anju entered Pakistan legally through the Wagah border on July 22, with Nasrullah receiving her in Rawalpindi. According to the Upper Dir District Police Officer (DPO), Mushtaq Khan, she possesses a valid visa allowing her to stay until August 21. There is also the option to request an extension from the Home Ministry if she wishes to prolong her visit.

Notably, Anju is a divorcee and has children in India. Previously, a video statement had surfaced where she mentioned her intention to leave Pakistan after a few days, just as she had arrived.

Anju also made a plea to the Indian media to give her family space. She asked them to contact her directly if they want to know anything about her visit to Upper Dir. They should not be bothering her family in India.

“I kindly request all media personnel not to harass my relatives and children,” she stated.
