The court heard arguments from both sides on Monday before announcing its reserved ruling.
Speaking to the media last week, Zulqarnain Naqvi Advocate stated, “The case against Ahmed Farhad has been registered under seven clauses, including terrorism.”
According to him, the Awami Action Committee held its demonstration on May 13, which is also the day the complaint was filed.
Following his disappearance during recent events in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Ahmed Farhad gained attention.
His wife filed a petition in IHC on May 15, asking for his recovery and production before the court as well as the identification, investigation, and prosecution of those accountable for his abduction.
The Attorney General of Pakistan notified the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on May 29 that Ahmed Farhad, the poet who had gone missing, had been apprehended and was being held by the AJK police.
The AGP presented the report of the Dher Kot police station in Kashmir before Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani.
In a previous hearing about the missing poet and journalist Ahmed Farhad Shah, the court had called in senior intelligence agency officials as well as the federal law minister.
The federal government begged the IHC last week to conclude the poet’s rehabilitation case before he could attend the court in person. The IHC refused.
On June 7, the IHC will pick up the matter again.
