Adil Raja ex-ISI Major
ISLAMABAD: London police arrested a former major of the Pakistan Army and an-anti army YouTuber today.
London police arrested him on the charges of inciting riots in Pakistan. The arrest of a notorious former ISI major seems to be an outcome of collaboration between the two countries’ security officials.
Raja was running his YouTube channel “SoldierSpeaks” from London with more than half a million subscribers. A few days before his arrest, the YouTube authorities suspended his YouTube channel on the complaint of the Pakistan government.
Adil Raja escaped from Pakistan ahead of a no-trust move against Imran Khan when he was Prime Minister.
Raja did not inform his seniors and the department and left the country suddenly to appear in London last year.
Since the appointment of the new army chief General Syed Asim Munir in Nov 2022, Adil Raja has been uploading videos on YouTube and spreading venom against the COAS and his team.
He is a strong supporter of Imran Khan, PTI, and belongs to those army officials who were part of the Imran Khan Project.
The government had filed different complaints against Adil Raja in the UK.
Meanwhile, the latest complaint was related to the riots of May 9.
Raja and other activists were raising hateful and anti-state sentiments through social media, as per the Pakistani government’s complaints to UK authorities.
The speculations of the arrest of Adil Raja were going on on the Twitter on Tuesday, but no one confirmed that until Wednesday morning.
