ISLAMABAD: An Accountability Court in Islamabad has nullified the confiscation order related to the property of ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Toshakhana reference case. The court directed the return of assets, including over 1650 kanals of agricultural land, Mercedes, and Land Cruiser vehicles, situated in Lahore.
Additionally, an order has been issued to unfreeze Nawaz Sharif’s bank accounts. In 2020, Judge Muhammad Basheer of the Islamabad Accountability Court declared Nawaz Sharif a proclaimed offender in the Toshakhana reference, along with orders to seize the former Prime Minister’s assets.
However, in November of this year, Nawaz Sharif returned home, surrendered to the court, and was subsequently granted bail.
MQM-P Reaffirms No Electoral Alliance With PML-N, Emphasizes Focus On Fair Elections
Meanwhile, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the convener of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), has made it clear that there is no formal electoral alliance with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Instead, the discussions between the two parties have focused on supporting each other to ensure fair and transparent elections in Pakistan.
In an interview with a private TV channel, Dr. Siddiqui emphasized that the joint declaration resulting from the meeting with the PML-N leadership did not mention the formation of an electoral alliance. He provided insights into the discussions held with various political leaders, including Nawaz Sharif, and highlighted the historical context of MQM’s interactions with different political elites.
Dr. Siddiqui stressed that talks about jointly contesting elections, forming a government, and deciding on the chief minister’s role have not taken place. He noted that MQM-P traditionally does not enter into electoral alliances but may consider seat adjustments, although such arrangements have not been finalized at this stage.
