Strong earthquake tremors have been felt across various regions in Pakistan, with the most intense shaking occurring in Islamabad and several districts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The tremors prompted people to flee buildings in panic.
Key cities and towns affected include Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, and Faisalabad. In Punjab, the earthquake impacted districts such as Gujranwala, Jhang, Chiniot, Pindi Bhattian, and Sangla Hill, as well as other areas like Mandi Bahauddin, Dijkot, and Pirmahal. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, regions including Malakand, Dera Ismail Khan, North Waziristan, Lakki Marwat, and Kurram experienced the tremors.
The Pakistan Seismological Center reported that the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.7 on the Richter scale, with a depth of 10 km and its epicenter located at Shadiwala near Dera Ghazi Khan. Despite the widespread tremors, there have been no immediate reports of significant damage or casualties.
