The 14th Korean Speech Contest was held at the National University of Modern Languages on 4th May, 2023.
The 14th Korean Speech Contest has been held after a period of four years since the 13th Korean Speech Contest held in the year 2019 because of the Covid-19 Pandemic. The 14th was jointly organized by the Department of Korean Language & Culture Islamabad and the Islamabad King Sejong Institute (IKSI).
The 14th Korean Speech Contest was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Mr. Suh Sangpyo, the Director General NUML, Brig. Syed Nadir Ali, the Director, Islamabad King Sejong Institute, Dr. Atif Faraz, the Head of the Department of Korean Language and Culture Mr. Ahtisham Hussain, representatives from different Korean companies, the faculty and a large number of students.
After listening to the speeches made by the students, H.E. Mr. Suh Sangpyo appreciated the skills of all the students and mentioned that they spoke Korean language very well. His Excellency acknowledged and appreciated the cooperative ties between NUML and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea while also appreciating the numerous efforts made by NUML in promoting Korean language in Pakistan.
While giving his remarks H.E. also laid emphasis on how the learning of Korean language and events like the Korean language contest have played a key-role in enhancing and strengthening the bilateral ties between Pakistan and the Republic of Korea. H.E. shared that he is quite optimistic with regards to the further enhancement of the bilateral ties between both countries.
The Director General NUML, Brig. Syed Nadir Ali wished good luck to all the Korean speaking Pakistani students and he also mentioned that the skill of speaking Korean language will help these Pakistani students score rewarding jobs in the Korean companies.
Pavan Manzoor is an experienced content writer , editor and social media handler along with a track record of youth-oriented activities in Pakistan and abroad. She was selected as a fully-funded delegate as a leadership fellow in Turkey. She also led a team of 5 volunteers at the week-long Young Professionals Fellowship in Maldives. She is also a member of the Youth Standing Committee on Higher Education.
