Pakistan’s famous singers, Quratulain Balouch and Shafqat Amanat Ali will headline the upcoming Lahooti Melo. The festival is taking place in Larkana later this month.
The 16th edition of the cultural festival is scheduled for September 21 to commemorate World Peace Day.
Organisers began announcing performers for the Lahooti Melo Larkana Edition 2026 through social media earlier this week.
Alongside prominent singers such as QB and Shafqat Amanat Ali, the festival will feature several renowned folk performers.
The lineup includes Tahir Mithu, Ustad Noor Bux, Fakir Zulfiqar, and father-son performers Ashique and Musadique Nizamani.
Folk singer Farzana Bahar will also perform during the festival, adding further diversity to the event’s musical programme.
Meanwhile, organisers are negotiating with artists from other provinces, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
They will announce additional performers after finalising arrangements with the remaining artists.
Celebrating peace through culture
Saif Samejo co-founded Lahooti Melo with his wife, Sana Khoja, in 2016.
Samejo, a member of the Sufi rock band The Sketches, also founded the Lahooti Ashram in Hyderabad.
He will perform at this year’s festival alongside artists representing different musical and cultural traditions.
The festival has traditionally focused on important social and cultural causes through music, art and dialogue.
Sana Khoja said this year’s edition will promote peace, cultural diversity, music and the arts as tools for bringing communities together.
The festival will also celebrate Pakistan’s shared cultural heritage and encourage greater understanding through artistic expression.
Previously, Lahooti Melo highlighted issues including the #MeToo movement and climate change.
The organisers therefore continue to use the festival as a platform for cultural expression and social awareness.
This year’s Larkana edition aims to strengthen those values through performances from artists across Pakistan.
