Intelligence-Based Operations Launched Against Militant Positions
Pakistanโs security forces have killed several militants during intelligence-based operations in Lakki Marwat district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The operations were conducted following information about militant hideouts in the area. Security sources said the actions formed part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts under the Azm-e-Istehkam security framework.
Several hideouts used by members of the group officially described as Fitna al-Khwarij were destroyed during the operations. Pakistani authorities use this term for militants associated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.
Security sources did not immediately provide an exact number of militants killed during the operations. No detailed information was released about the specific locations of the hideouts or the duration of the security actions.
Weapons and Equipment Recovered From Hideouts
Security personnel recovered a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and other equipment during searches of the targeted locations.
Officials said the recovered material had allegedly been used to support militant activities in the region.
Reports also indicated that several militants were injured during the operations. However, authorities did not release their identities or provide an exact number of injured individuals.
Security teams continued examining the targeted areas after the initial engagements. The operation aimed to locate any remaining militants, weapons or logistical facilities.
Authorities said special measures were taken to protect residents and private property during the security actions. Operational teams were instructed to avoid civilian harm while targeting suspected militant positions.
No civilian deaths or injuries were reported in the initial information. There was also no immediate announcement regarding casualties among security personnel.
Security Operations to Continue Across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Security sources said counterterrorism operations would continue across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa until militant networks were dismantled and lasting peace was restored.
Lakki Marwat has remained a major focus of security operations because of repeated militant activity in the district. Security forces have conducted several intelligence-led actions in the area during recent months.
Officials said the latest operations demonstrated continued efforts to disrupt militant hideouts, weapons supplies and operational networks.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for conducting the operations successfully.
He said the sacrifices made by security personnel for Pakistanโs safety and stability would be remembered. He also reaffirmed the governmentโs support for forces engaged in counterterrorism operations.
Authorities had not released a complete operational statement or independently verifiable casualty figures at the time of reporting.
