Lahore Police claimed to have solved the Valencia Town family deaths on Friday. Investigators alleged the children’s mother poisoned them before taking her own life.
Police also arrested two suspects accused of supplying the poisonous chemical used in the incident. Authorities said the arrests followed a detailed technical investigation.
According to DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza, the suspects include an online chemical shop owner and a delivery rider. Police alleged the shop owner sold restricted chemicals through online platforms.
Police Reveal Investigation Into Family Deaths
The DIG said the woman had a history of mental illness. Investigators also found online searches related to suicide methods during the inquiry.
Police stated the woman contacted the chemical seller online. She allegedly transferred Rs. 138,540 through MoneyGram to purchase potassium cyanide.
According to investigators, the family had travelled from the United States to Lahore. They were living in a rented house in Valencia Town.
Police said the woman arranged delivery of the chemical to a friend’s house. She allegedly collected the parcel during a meeting at a private pizza restaurant on July 16.
Police Arrest Two Suspects In Chemical Supply
Investigators alleged the woman mixed potassium cyanide into ice cream on July 17. Police claimed she served it to her three children before consuming it herself.
The victims were identified as 15-year-old Rehan, 11-year-old Arisha, and 9-year-old Arsalan. Police further alleged the woman also offered the poisoned ice cream to her husband, who did not eat it.
The DIG said investigators cleared the husband after a polygraph test and forensic examination. Moreover, police cited forensic evidence supporting their conclusions.
Authorities said they identified the suspects through CCTV footage and technical evidence. Meanwhile, police pledged to pursue the case with prosecutors and announced rewards for the investigation team.
