Social Media Personality Accused of Dangerous Driving
Lahore police have registered a First Information Report against popular TikToker Akhtar Lawa for allegedly driving against the permitted flow of traffic.
Akhtar Lawa is widely known online by his popular nickname, โLahore Da Pawa.โ The case was reportedly registered after traffic authorities accused him of violating a designated one-way route in Lahore.
According to the FIR, Traffic Inspector Rana Zareef submitted the complaint against the social media personality. Police have initiated legal proceedings under the relevant traffic and criminal laws.
Authorities have not publicly disclosed the exact location or time of the alleged violation. It is also unclear whether the incident was captured through traffic cameras, police footage or a video circulated on social media.
The registration of an FIR does not establish guilt. The allegations will remain subject to investigation and any subsequent court proceedings.
Police Warn Against One-Way Traffic Violations
Lahore Traffic Police said driving in the wrong direction creates serious danger for motorists, motorcyclists and pedestrians.
Drivers entering a one-way road from the opposite direction can surprise approaching vehicles. This may result in sudden braking, collisions and traffic congestion.
The department urged citizens to follow traffic signs and road directions at all times. Officials said one-way restrictions are introduced to manage traffic flow and reduce the risk of accidents on busy roads.
Police also warned that popularity or social media influence would not protect anyone from legal action. Traffic laws apply equally to celebrities, online creators and ordinary citizens.
The authorities have increasingly focused on dangerous driving practices across Lahore. These include travelling against traffic, speeding, ignoring signals and using roads in ways that endanger other people.
Legal Proceedings Begin Against Akhtar Lawa
Following the registration of the case, investigators are expected to review the available evidence and record relevant statements.
Akhtar Lawa may be required to appear before police or a court as the legal process continues. No detailed public response from the TikToker was available in the initial report.
The case has attracted attention because of Akhtar Lawaโs large online following. His videos and public appearances have made him a familiar figure among social media users in Lahore and other parts of Pakistan.
Traffic Police used the incident to remind content creators that actions performed for videos or public attention must remain within the law.
Officials urged motorists to avoid risky driving for entertainment or online content. They stressed that even a brief violation can lead to a serious accident.
The police appealed to all road users to follow one-way signs, remain within their lanes and cooperate with traffic officers.
Further details are expected after investigators complete their initial inquiry and determine whether additional action is required.
