In a historic development, Lahore underwent its inaugural artificial rain experiment on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Punjab’s Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced the successful execution of the artificial rain experiment, with accolades from the Prime Minister.
Naqvi disclosed that this unprecedented initiative was carefully orchestrated with assistance from the UAE. Describing the morning in Lahore as the most polluted, he highlighted that it marked the first instance of artificial rain in the country’s history.
Providing details on the procedure, Naqvi explained that rainfall was induced in ten areas of Lahore, employing 48 flares for cloud seeding, specifically targeting the Shahdara area.
Commending the success of Lahore’s inaugural artificial rain experiment, CM Punjab Mohsin Naqvi underscored the meticulous planning involved in the endeavor. He expressed gratitude to the Environment Department and the entire UAE team for their thorough examination of the process, leading to eagerly awaited results.
Notably, he stressed that not a single rupee from Punjab’s funds was utilized for this groundbreaking achievement, giving credit to the UAE Government for their support in realizing the artificial rain project.
