Two women are in police custody after a terrifying incident in Lahore. The suspects allegedly attempted to kidnap an 11-month-old baby. This incident occurred at the busy Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC).
The quick actions of hospital staff and security personnel successfully prevented the abduction. Consequently, the police arrested both suspects at the scene.
Suspects Target Vulnerable Family During Medical Visit
According to local police, the incident began during a routine hospital visit. A man identified as Shabbir had arrived at the hospital. He was accompanying his wife for a medical check-up.
The main suspect, identified as Tayyaba, was at the hospital with her younger sister, Jannat. The two sisters allegedly kept observing the family and their infant. They watched closely before making their move.
Quick-Thinking Staff Stop the Abduction
The suspects allegedly used a clever pretext to take the infant. They then attempted to flee from the busy hospital building.
Fortunately, the hospital staff and security guards acted very quickly. They immediately blocked the escape route and stopped the suspects. The security team then alerted the local police.
Police Investigation Underway After Arrests
Shadman Police reached the hospital quickly and took both suspects into custody. The Station House Officer (SHO) confirmed that they have registered a formal FIR against the accused women. A thorough investigation is currently underway to find the motive.
Following the incident, the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Model Town issued an important safety warning. He urged the public to remain highly vigilant. Additionally, he advised citizens to report any suspicious individuals immediately by calling the Police Helpline 15.
