Lahore police have arrested two suspects in connection with the theft of gold worth Rs4.5 million from a woman’s house in the Litton Road area.
The case took a surprising turn after investigators found that the woman’s cousin, who had stayed at the house, was allegedly involved in the theft.
According to police, the gold was stolen around two months ago. The suspects allegedly took the valuables from the house and later sold them with the help of an accomplice.
Two Suspects Arrested in Narowal
Litton Road police traced and arrested the two suspects from Narowal.
Police said modern technology and mobile phone number tracing played a key role in identifying and locating the accused.
The arrested suspects were identified as Usama and Salman.
Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the theft and the suspects’ alleged involvement in selling the stolen gold.
Over Rs3 Million Recovered
According to SP Civil Lines, police recovered more than Rs3 million in cash from the arrested suspects.
The recovered money was handed over to the affected woman, police said.
Authorities said the investigation was conducted with the help of modern technology to trace the suspects and recover the stolen amount.
Police officials said further investigation is underway and assured citizens that efforts would continue to ensure justice in the case.
