Lahore Traffic Police has announced a special traffic plan for August 13 and 14. The plan covers Independence Day celebrations and fireworks across the city.
Fireworks will take place at five locations, including Greater Iqbal Park and Dolmen Mall Defence. Other locations include Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Adda Plot and Liberty Market.
Traffic Plan Covers Lahore Events
Musical programs will also take place at Liberty Market and H Block in Defence Phase 6. Meanwhile, traffic authorities have deployed officers to manage expected crowds.
Three senior superintendents of police and 16 deputy superintendents will supervise the arrangements. Additionally, 500 traffic inspectors will support the special traffic plan.
Checkpoints Established Across City
Officials will establish special checkpoints at 62 locations across Lahore. These checkpoints aim to prevent wheelie riding, hooliganism and other disruptive activities.
Lahore Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said authorities would not tolerate road blockages. He also warned against road rage and activities that disrupt traffic.
The traffic police urged citizens to celebrate Independence Day enthusiastically while following traffic rules. Officials also encouraged residents to attend scheduled events responsibly.
Authorities said the measures aim to maintain smooth traffic flow during the celebrations. Citizens are advised to cooperate with traffic personnel throughout the festivities.
