Authorities say fire and equipment damage affected electricity generation infrastructure
KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said on Friday that a power generation plant and a desalination facility sustained damage following reported retaliatory military operations linked to the ongoing regional conflict.
According to the ministry, the incident resulted in damage to parts of the facilities, triggered a fire and affected multiple electricity generation units. Officials said emergency teams responded to the site to contain the fire and assess the extent of the damage.
The ministry did not immediately provide details about casualties or the overall impact on electricity production and water desalination capacity. Authorities also did not specify the exact location of the affected facilities.
