In an unusual and significant development in the political history of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial government has decided to adopt a protest-style approach, deviating from traditional parliamentary procedures.
The provincial assembly session has been convened for Wednesday, April 22, at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar. The announcement was made by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi during a public rally in Mardan.
Following the announcement, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Secretariat issued an official notification confirming the session. Preparations are already underway, with authorities working on security arrangements, seating plans media coverage and other administrative matters.
According to sources, the move reflects a shift towards a more public and participatory political approach, as common citizens are also expected to be invited to attend the session.
The decision marks a departure from conventional assembly proceedings and is being viewed as a notable step in the provinceโs evolving political landscape.
