New Initiative to Start in 20 Government Higher Secondary Schools Across 10 Districts
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced the launch of the Inter-Tech Program in government schools across the province, aiming to introduce technical education opportunities for students alongside traditional academic studies.
The Elementary and Secondary Education Department has issued an official notification regarding the new technical education initiative, marking a step toward expanding skill-based learning in public sector schools.
The program will initially be introduced in selected government higher secondary schools and may later be expanded to more institutions across the province.
20 Schools Selected for Initial Phase
According to the notification, the Inter-Tech Program will begin in 20 government higher secondary schools located across 10 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The selected institutions will include:
- 10 Government Higher Secondary Schools for Boys
- 10 Government Girls Higher Secondary Schools
The department said the initiative is designed to provide students with access to technical learning opportunities and help prepare them with practical skills relevant to modern industries.
Technical Education Providers to Manage Program
The KP government will hire qualified Technical Education Providers (TEPs) through an open and competitive outsourcing process to implement the Inter-Tech Program.
These providers will be responsible for delivering technical education and ensuring that students receive proper training under the new initiative.
The outsourcing model is intended to bring specialised expertise into government schools and improve the quality of technical education being offered.
Focus on Skill Development in Schools
The Inter-Tech Program is part of the provincial government’s broader efforts to promote skill-based education and provide students with career-oriented learning opportunities.
Through the initiative, students in government schools will have the opportunity to gain technical knowledge and practical skills that can support future employment and professional development.
Education officials said the introduction of technical education at the school level will help bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.
The KP government is expected to monitor the initial phase of the program before considering expansion to additional districts and schools across the province.
