Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has pledged to personally lead PTIโs September 27 long march to Islamabad. He declared that the announced date was final and insisted the party would not back down.
Afridi made the remarks during a one-day visit to Hangu while reviewing preparations for the march. He addressed PTI supporters at Hangu Bazaar Chowk and Abu Bakr Siddique Chowk.
Several party leaders, including PTI provincial president Junaid Akbar Khan, attended the gatherings. Afridi thanked workers for their participation and urged them to intensify preparations.
Afridi Criticises Delay in Imran Khanโs Medical Transfer
The chief minister strongly criticised the alleged failure to implement a Supreme Court order regarding Imran Khanโs medical treatment. He claimed the court directed authorities to transfer the PTI founder to Shifa International Hospital.
According to Afridi, officials failed to carry out the directive despite being given time for arrangements. He alleged that the government and administration disregarded the courtโs instructions.
Afridi questioned what he described as selective implementation of judicial decisions. He argued that orders against PTI workers were enforced quickly, while directives concerning Imran Khan remained unimplemented.
Chief Minister Urges Youth to Join Movement
Afridi called for equal application of the law and urged the judiciary to uphold justice without discrimination. He said equal justice remained central to Imran Khanโs political struggle.
The chief minister also expressed concern about Pakistanโs economic situation. He claimed rising debt, inflation, and financial hardship were creating difficulties for citizens across the country.
Furthermore, Afridi described Imran Khan as a symbol of national unity. He argued that the former prime ministerโs return would strengthen public confidence in institutions.
Afridi also appealed to young people to actively participate in the September 27 movement. He said youth represented the majority of PTI rally participants and would play a key role in shaping the countryโs future.
