ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Religious Affairs Kheal Das Kohistani and Punjab Minister for Minority Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora will represent Pakistan at the inauguration ceremony of Pope Leo, the Ministry of Religious Affairs confirmed on Friday.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received an official invitation to attend the historic ceremony, which will mark the formal installation of Pope Leo as the 267th Pope and the spiritual leader of over a billion Catholics worldwide.
According to a spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Kohistani and Arora are scheduled to depart for Vatican City today to attend the event on behalf of the Government of Pakistan.
The inauguration ceremony is set for May 18 and will take place at St. Peter’s Basilica, where global dignitaries and religious leaders are expected to gather for the occasion.
