A joint investigation team has reportedly traced the network allegedly linked to the attack.
Two Groups Allegedly Joined Forces
Investigation officials said two terrorist organizations allegedly worked together to plan the assault.
According to officials, the attackers aimed to storm the Police Lines and free suspects held at the CTD compound.
The alleged attackers reportedly stayed in Kohat for several days before the assault.
Raid Leads to Arrests and Evidence
Investigators conducted a raid at the house where the suspects allegedly stayed.
Several people were arrested during the operation. Officials also said important evidence was recovered from the location.
Investigators have obtained data linked to the vehicle allegedly used by the suicide attacker.
The information is now being examined to identify other members of the suspected network.
Similar Attack Allegedly Planned Last Year
Officials said police, CTD and other law-enforcement agencies successfully prevented the attackers from achieving their objective.
Investigators also found that a similar attack on the Kohat Police Lines had allegedly been planned last year.
The suspects were arrested before they could execute that plan, officials said.
The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are working to establish the roles of other individuals allegedly involved in planning and facilitating the attack.
