Federal Government Endorses the Initiative
Earlier this month, on November 6, a PTI delegation met with Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions, Amir Muqam, to discuss the peace jirga. Following the meeting, both sides held a joint press conference, where the federal government confirmed its participation in the initiative for the sake of the provinceโs peace and harmony.
The key objective of the jirga is to promote peace and political harmony in the province and evolve collective strategies to curb growing terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to the government officials, peace jirga will strengthen cooperation in overcoming security challenges.
In the prevailing situation, peace jirga is an important development to discourage unabated wave of terrorism in the province and other parts of the country.
