Punjabi singer Karan Aujla paid tribute to legendary Pakistani qawwali singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan during his sold-out London concert. Aujla performed “Main Khair Manga” while visuals of the late music icon appeared on screens beside him.
The tribute took place at The O2 Arena, where Aujla performed for a large audience during his P-Pop Culture tour. His performance highlighted the lasting influence of Nusrat’s music across generations and borders.
Aujla Celebrates Nusrat’s Musical Legacy
Aujla has become one of the biggest names in contemporary Punjabi music. Born in Punjab and partly raised in Canada, he began writing songs as a teenager before building his own career as a singer.
His breakthrough came with tracks such as “Don’t Worry,” followed by successful albums including BacTHAfuKUP, Making Memories and P-Pop Culture. Meanwhile, his London show formed part of his 2026 UK arena tour.
Nusrat’s Influence Continues Worldwide
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan remains one of Pakistan’s most internationally recognised musicians. Born in Faisalabad in 1948, he inherited a family qawwali tradition and began performing with his family at a young age.
After his father died in 1964, Nusrat became the group’s lead singer and developed the powerful vocal style that defined his career. He later worked with international musicians and filmmakers, helping introduce qawwali to audiences around the world.
Although Nusrat died in 1997 at 48, his music continues to influence artists worldwide. Aujla’s tribute therefore brought his legacy to a new generation of Punjabi music fans
