The Karakoram Highway, which had been blocked at Tatta Pani due to a landslide, has been partially reopened for one-way traffic, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.
According to Goharabad Police, heavy machinery was used to clear the debris, allowing limited traffic to resume.
However, full restoration of the highway is expected to take more time.
Meanwhile, persistent rainfall continues in the upper mountainous regions of Diamer and Kohistan, worsening the situation. The Meteorological Department has issued warnings of further rain and potential landslides.
Karakoram Highway and Flash Floods
Flash floods have also damaged several link roads on the outskirts of Diamer, cutting off access to nearby areas and creating severe hardships for residents.
Officials have urged travellers to avoid unnecessary movement, and rescue teams have been deployed to assist those affected.
