KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Karachi has arrested a terrorist from Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area for his alleged involvement in killing of Chinese engineers.
The suspect, who belongs to a banned separatist group, is believed to be involved in the killings of Chinese engineers in Karachi’s Gulbai area.
According to the CTD, the terrorist has been trained to use explosive materials for blasts and he was receiving funding from Afghanistan.

Police said that the terrorist was also in contact with Habitan Bashir, husband of Karachi University suicide bomber Shari Baloch, who blew up herself near a van carrying Chinese teachers.
The CTD investigators claimed that the terrorist was called to Karachi just before the Karachi University attack in April this year in which three Chinese nationals and their driver were killed in the attack. Victims include institute’s director Huang Guiping, two female faculty members Chen Sai and Ding Mupeng, and driver Khalid.
