Karachi police arrested a driver accused of assaulting a food delivery rider after a traffic dispute. The incident occurred in the Defence Housing Authority’s Badr Commercial area.
Police said the suspect allegedly tried to flee to another city after the incident. However, officers arrested him during a raid before he could leave Karachi.
According to investigators, the dispute began after a minor collision between a car and motorcycle. The accident quickly escalated into a heated argument between both individuals.
Police detain suspect after DHA raid
Authorities said the suspect allegedly attacked the delivery rider during the confrontation. He then reportedly removed a hockey stick from his vehicle.
Furthermore, police alleged that the driver repeatedly struck the rider’s motorcycle with the hockey stick. The attack caused extensive damage to the motorcycle.
After receiving reports, police launched an operation in DHA Badr Commercial. Consequently, officers located and arrested the suspect without delay.
Investigation continues as legal proceedings begin
Police said the accused was preparing to leave the city before his arrest. Therefore, investigators acted quickly to prevent his escape.
Additionally, authorities seized the vehicle allegedly used during the incident. Officers have included the vehicle as evidence in the ongoing investigation.
