Karachi is unlikely to host Pakistan’s upcoming home series against Sri Lanka and the tri-nation ODI tournament featuring England, according to sources. Instead, Lahore and Rawalpindi have emerged as the leading venues for both competitions.
The change comes as redevelopment work continues at the National Bank Stadium. Consequently, the venue is not expected to be ready during the scheduled international window.
Pakistan’s home Test and T20I series against Sri Lanka, alongside the tri-nation ODI tournament, are now expected to take place in Lahore and Rawalpindi. However, discussions regarding the final venue allocation are still underway.

Sources said authorities are finalising venue arrangements for the bilateral series and the tri-nation tournament. Nevertheless, an official announcement has yet to be made by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Sri Lanka will tour Pakistan for a two-match Test series and a three-match T20I series. The tour forms part of the 2025–27 ICC World Test Championship cycle.
According to the Future Tours Programme, the three T20Is are scheduled for October. Afterwards, the two-match Test series will take place in November.
PCB Yet To Confirm Match Schedule
Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka will also compete in a tri-nation ODI tournament. The competition is expected to be held across October and November. Therefore, it will serve as valuable preparation for future international assignments.
The Pakistan Cricket Board is expected to confirm the venues and schedule after completing final arrangements.
Meanwhile, Pakistan are currently touring the West Indies for a two-match Test series. The hosts won the opening Test by 90 runs. The second and final Test is scheduled to begin later today.
After completing the Caribbean tour, Pakistan will travel to England for a three-match Test series. The opening Test will be played at Headingley from August 19 to 23. The second match follows at Lord’s from August 27 to 31. Finally, the series concludes at Edgbaston from September 9 to 13.
