KARACHI: Two suspects allegedly broke into a vehicle parked outside Sindh Chief Minister’s Advisor Raza Haroon’s residence in Karachi’s PECHS area early Sunday.
The suspects reportedly stole electronic components and automotive parts before escaping on a motorcycle. Security cameras captured the incident, providing investigators with potentially useful evidence. The theft occurred at around 6:00 a.m. while the vehicle remained parked outside the residence.
Suspects Lock Gate Before Breaking Into Vehicle
According to CCTV footage, two men arrived at the residence on a motorcycle. They reportedly locked the main gate from the outside soon after arriving.
Investigators believe the move may have prevented residents from quickly responding to the incident. One suspect stayed near the gate while the other approached the parked vehicle.
The second suspect then reportedly smashed one of the car’s windows. He entered the vehicle after breaking the glass and began removing parts from inside.
The footage reportedly shows the suspect taking the vehicle’s front panel and electronic controller. He also removed other items before leaving the scene.
Both suspects then escaped on their motorcycle. Their quick departure allowed them to leave before anyone could intervene.
Raza Haroon Discovers Theft Hours Later
Haroon reportedly discovered the theft at around 10:30 a.m. He was preparing to leave his residence when he noticed something unusual.
The main gate remained locked from the outside. He then inspected the vehicle and discovered the damaged window.
Further inspection revealed that several components were missing from the vehicle. The stolen items reportedly included electronic parts and automotive components.
The incident occurred several hours after the suspects had left the area. CCTV footage later provided a record of how the theft unfolded.
