KARACHI: A Karachi court approved the police challan in the case against alleged drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky, replacing the murder charge with manslaughter.
The investigating officer submitted the final charge sheet before the Judicial Magistrate (South). Moreover, the officer recommended replacing Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code with Section 322, which covers qatl-bis-sabab, or manslaughter.
According to police, the recommendation followed a chemical examination report issued by the University of Karachi. The report concluded that the unidentified man’s death resulted from drug intoxication rather than intentional murder.
Police said Baghdadi police initially registered the case as murder after an unidentified man’s body was found on a footpath. Subsequently, officers allegedly recovered a small box bearing Anmol alias Pinky’s name from the deceased’s pocket and registered the case about a month later.
However, police said authorities have not yet identified the deceased.
Under Section 322 of the Pakistan Penal Code, a conviction could result in the payment of diyat instead of imprisonment, depending on the court’s decision.
Police arrested Anmol alias Pinky during an intelligence-based operation in May 2026. Investigators alleged she was a high-profile narcotics supplier involved in producing and distributing cocaine in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
Authorities also claimed they recovered a mobile drug laboratory, semi-prepared cocaine, cocaine capsules, chemicals and a pistol during the operation.
