ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) will conduct interviews for candidates seeking appointment as additional judges to the country’s high courts from July 13 to July 17, according to a report by 24NewsHD on Wednesday.
The interviews will be carried out by committees constituted by the Judicial Commission under the supervision of Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi and Justice Aamer Farooq.
The interview process forms part of the commission’s responsibility to evaluate and recommend suitable candidates for appointment to high courts across Pakistan.
JCP Led by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi
The Judicial Commission is currently headed by Yahya Afridi, who serves as the Chief Justice of Pakistan and chairs the constitutional body responsible for judicial appointments.
The JCP comprises representatives from the judiciary, the federal government, Parliament and the Pakistan Bar Council, ensuring participation from key institutions in the judicial selection process.
Following the interviews, the commission is expected to review the candidates’ qualifications and performance before making recommendations for appointments as additional judges to the respective high courts in accordance with the constitutional procedure.
