A journalist associated with a private television channel has reportedly gone missing in Islamabad. The incident prompted the channel administration to seek police assistance.
According to an application submitted at Aabpara Police Station, journalist Yasir Ayaz disappeared yesterday. The administration stated that he went missing from the G-7 Sitara Market area.
Officials said the journalist was last seen after 5 pm. Since then, neither colleagues nor family members have contacted him. Consequently, concerns about his whereabouts have increased.
Family Loses Contact With Journalist
The application states that Yasir Ayazโs mobile phone remains switched off. Additionally, his WhatsApp account has remained inactive since last evening. Family members reportedly tried several times to contact him.
However, all efforts to establish communication have failed. As a result, relatives and colleagues became increasingly worried. The television channel administration then decided to approach law enforcement authorities.
The application requested immediate legal action regarding the case. It also urged authorities to trace and recover the missing journalist promptly.
Police Launch Formal Investigation
Police officials at Aabpara Police Station confirmed receiving the application. Following the complaint, authorities initiated formal legal proceedings. Investigators have also started efforts to determine the journalistโs whereabouts.
