Jazz, Pakistanโs leading connectivity provider, has partnered with Islamic Relief Pakistan to drive digital inclusion and strengthen community resilience. The two organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore strategic collaboration across the country.
The partnership combines Jazzโs nationwide digital infrastructure and advanced technology capabilities with Islamic Relief Pakistanโs extensive humanitarian expertise and community reach. Together, they aim to implement scalable, technology-driven solutions for underserved and climate-vulnerable communities.
Under the MoU, both organizations will develop initiatives to enhance digital literacy and skills among women and youth. Programs will also focus on entrepreneurship readiness and climate-smart livelihood opportunities. Additionally, the collaboration seeks to leverage digital tools for smallholder farmers, offering improved access to market information and agri-business support.
The partnership will further strengthen early-warning systems and response mechanisms for communities facing climate-related risks. Digital solutions will support poverty graduation programs for ultra-poor households while promoting education continuity and psychosocial support for orphan-guardian families. These initiatives aim to enhance coordination during humanitarian emergencies.
Syed Zaheer Mehdi, Group Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer at Jazz, emphasized the importance of connectivity beyond access. He stated, โConnectivity today is about resilience, opportunity, and inclusion. This collaboration with Islamic Relief Pakistan shows Jazzโs commitment to leveraging technology as a force for good.โ
He added that the partnership will help vulnerable communities better prepare for, respond to, and recover from ongoing challenges.
Asif Sherazi, Country Director of Islamic Relief Pakistan, highlighted the value of combining humanitarian experience with digital capabilities. He said, โWe aim to develop practical, scalable solutions that address immediate needs while building long-term resilience and self-reliance.โ
Both organizations underscored their shared commitment to using digital innovation for humanitarian impact. The collaboration ensures communities across Pakistan remain connected, informed, and equipped to navigate increasingly complex social, economic, and climate risks.
With this partnership, Jazz and Islamic Relief Pakistan set a model for combining technology and humanitarian expertise to empower vulnerable populations and enhance overall community resilience.
