Javed Sheikh Praises Shah Rukh Khanโs Kindness
ISLAMABAD: Veteran Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh has revealed why he agreed to work with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan for just one rupee.
Speaking on Wasay Chaudhryโs podcast, Sheikh recalled his experience of working with Khan in the 2007 blockbuster Om Shanti Om.
He described the experience as โexcellent and superbโ and praised Khanโs kindness, generosity and humble personality.
Sheikh said director Farah Khan personally offered him the role of Shah Rukh Khanโs father in the film.
Later, when the production team approached him to discuss his contract and payment, Sheikh reportedly refused to accept a regular fee.
He explained that appearing in a major Bollywood production was already a great honour for him.
Sheikh also said representing Pakistan in such a high-profile film meant more to him than receiving financial compensation.
However, the production manager insisted that a professional actor could not work without payment.
