Khyber District Operation
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Khyber district, a tragic intelligence-based operation (IBO) led to the loss of a Pakistan Army officer and three soldiers, as reported by the military’s media affairs wing.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) revealed that this operation took place in the Tirah area following intelligence indicating the presence of terrorists.
During the IBO, Pakistan Army troops, under the command of Lt Col Muhammad Hassan Haider, engaged the terrorists effectively, resulting in the demise of three militants, while three others sustained injuries, according to the ISPR.
In the midst of the intense exchange of fire, four courageous soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice: Lt Col Haider (43 years old), Naik Khushdil Khan (31 years old), Naik Rafique Khan (27 years old), and Lance Naik Abdul Qadir (33 years old). The ISPR also noted that a sanitization operation is currently underway in the area to ensure the elimination of any remaining terrorists.

This tragic incident unfolded just two days after a terrorist attack on the Pakistan Air Force’s M.M. Alam Base. The ISPR reported that all nine terrorists involved in the attack were neutralized, with no damage inflicted on the operational assets of the Pakistan Air Force.
Pakistan has witnessed a notable uptick in terror activities in recent months, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, following the cessation of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan’s ceasefire with the government in November of the preceding year.
Data compiled by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) revealed a surge in militant attacks, with 99 incidents occurring in August, marking the highest monthly total in nearly nine years. These developments highlight the ongoing challenges and sacrifices made in Pakistan’s struggle against terrorism.
