Islamabad police registered 11 kidnapping and missing-person cases within 24 hours on September 17.
The cases involved a newborn baby, women, teenagers, drivers and other missing persons in different areas of the capital.
Newborn Recovered From PIMS Hospital
One of the most serious cases involved a newborn baby boy allegedly taken from PIMS Hospital.
Police registered a case under Section 364-A of the Pakistan Penal Code after the child’s mother filed a complaint.
According to police, three women allegedly took the newborn outside the hospital.
The incident was noticed quickly.
The child’s grandmother, a female doctor and a security guard searched for the suspects.
They traced the women and recovered the baby.
The suspects were later handed over to police for legal proceedings.
Woman Reported Missing With Car
A married woman was reported missing along with her Honda City in I-9/4.
Her husband approached police and a case was registered under Section 496-A of the Pakistan Penal Code.
He told police that his wife had called him before leaving.
She said she was visiting a friend and would return shortly.
However, she did not return.
Her husband later suspected that she had been kidnapped along with the vehicle.
Son Reported Missing in Garden Town
Another case was registered in Garden Town after a woman reported her son missing.
Police said the woman had returned from Karachi and found her son absent from home.
His mobile phone had also remained switched off since Friday.
Neighbors told her that several people carrying the boy’s photograph had visited the area.
They reportedly asked about him before later going to the family’s house.
The woman alleged that the men took her son away.
Teenagers and Young Women Among Missing Persons
A 15-year-old girl was reported missing from Iqbal Town.
Her mother said the girl had left home to purchase something from the market.
The family searched for her but could not locate her.
Police registered a case under Section 365-B of the Pakistan Penal Code.
In Sihala, an unidentified man was accused of stealing valuables from a house and allegedly taking away a woman.
Her husband reported the incident to police.
Another case from Sihala involved a 21-year-old woman who disappeared after leaving home for work at a factory.
Her father filed a complaint under Section 365-B.
Her whereabouts remain unknown.
An 18-year-old girl was also reported missing from her home in Model Town.
Her mother alleged that a man had taken her away.
Police registered a case under Section 365-B.
Similarly, a 17-year-old girl was reported missing from Naiabadi Barakah.
Her grandmother nominated a man in the complaint and accused him of taking the teenager away.
Drivers Also Reported Missing
A driver working for a government officer was reported missing in I-9/2.
Police registered a case under Section 365 after his brother filed a complaint.
The driver had handed his vehicle keys to his employer before saying he was going out for some work.
He has remained missing since then.
In another case, an online cab driver disappeared along with his vehicle.
His father told police that his son had left home two days earlier.
He did not return.
Police registered a case under Section 365.
16-Year-Old Boy Also Missing
Police also registered a case after a 16-year-old boy disappeared from Bilal Town.
His father said the boy left home following a family dispute.
The family searched for him but could not trace him.
The father then approached police and requested assistance in locating his son.
The cases have prompted separate investigations by Islamabad police.
