Authorities warned that action will be taken against untagged motorcycles after March 5. The department has mobilized resources to speed up installations. Officials are working extended hours to handle the surge in demand.
According to official figures, 8,928 motorcycles have already been fitted with M-Tags. Out of these, 2,069 installations were completed in the last 24 hours. The response has accelerated as the deadline approaches.
In total, 238,080 M-Tags have been issued for vehicles so far. Officials expect these numbers to increase further in the coming days. The department has urged full cooperation from the public.
Extended Timings Announced for M-Tag Centers During Ramadan
Authorities have revised operating hours in view of Ramadan. Several M-Tag installation centers will now operate on different schedules. Some facilities will run 24 hours a day to manage increased demand.
Two major toll locations will remain open round the clock. These include Sector 26 and Phulgran Toll Plaza. Other centers will operate on 12-hour and 8-hour shifts.
Installation services will also be available at F-9 Park and the police checkpoint in G-14 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Additional centers at Faizabad Interchange, Gulberg Greens, and Milpur will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Facilities near the Sabzi Mandi police station and Daman-e-Koh will remain open until evening. Officials said the extended hours are designed to reduce waiting times. Citizens are advised to visit the nearest center early to avoid last-minute rush.
