Shops, Markets, and Restaurants Continue Under Fixed Timings
Most commercial establishments will continue to follow strict closing hours. Shops, markets, and shopping malls across Islamabad are required to shut down by 8 pm under the existing schedule. This measure is part of the broader effort to reduce electricity consumption in the city.
Restaurants, food outlets, and grocery stores have been given slightly extended hours and must close by 10 pm. Marriage halls, marquees, and event venues are also required to follow the 10 pm deadline without exception.

Essential Services and Delivery Operations Fully Exempted
The notification clearly states that essential services will continue without any time restrictions. Medical stores, hospitals, and laboratories are fully exempt from closure timings to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services.
In addition, petrol pumps, CNG stations, and milk shops have also been excluded from any operational limits. These services are considered critical for daily public needs and emergency situations.
Authorities further confirmed that call centers and IT companies serving international clients can operate without any time restrictions. This exemption is intended to support Pakistan’s growing digital economy and outsourcing industry.
Delivery Services Continue Without Time Barriers
Home delivery and takeaway services will also remain unaffected by the new restrictions. Food delivery platforms and courier services are allowed to operate round the clock to ensure convenience for residents.
Officials stated that these services play an important role in supporting urban lifestyles and maintaining business continuity for restaurants and retailers. As a result, no time limits have been imposed on their operations.
