An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad has re-issued arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and other suspects in the November 26 protest case. The court took up the matter on Wednesday as police again failed to submit the case challan.
ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra heard the case and directed police to submit the challan without further delay. The court expressed concern over the continued failure to present the required case documents.
Court Orders Police To Submit Challan
During the hearing, police informed the court that they had not submitted the challan. The judge subsequently directed the authorities to complete the process promptly and present the case record before the court.
The case involves PTI leaders and workers accused in connection with the November 26 protests. Authorities registered the case at Margalla Police Station in Islamabad.
Hearing Adjourned Until October 9
Following the proceedings, the court re-issued arrest warrants for Afridi and the other accused individuals. The order keeps the warrants active as the case moves forward.
The ATC adjourned further proceedings until October 9. Police are expected to submit the challan before the next hearing as directed by the court.
The November 26 protest case remains pending before the Islamabad ATC. Further proceedings will determine the next legal steps against the accused named in the case.
