Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has departed for Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. He left after concluding his official visit to Manila.
Before his departure, Dar thanked the Philippine government and the ASEAN Regional Forum team. He appreciated the hospitality extended to him and the Pakistani delegation during their stay in Manila.
Pakistan to Participate in Two-Day SCO Meeting
Ishaq Dar will lead Pakistan’s delegation at the two-day SCO Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, which begins today. He is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts on the sidelines of the event.
Foreign ministers from Pakistan, China, Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan will attend the meeting. The forum is the third-highest decision-making platform within the SCO framework.
Bilateral Meetings Planned in Kyrgyzstan
The meeting will focus on international relations and the foreign and security policies of SCO member states. Participants are expected to discuss key regional and global issues.
Meanwhile, Dar will also call on the President of the Kyrgyz Republic during his visit. Additionally, he will hold several bilateral meetings with foreign ministers from SCO member countries.
