The United States has reportedly deployed 10 military cargo aircraft to Israeli air bases amid growing concerns about renewed conflict with Iran. The reported movement comes as Washington and Israel prepare for possible military escalation across the Middle East.
The aircraft reportedly landed at Ovda and Nevatim air bases in Israel’s southern Negev region. Additional US military aircraft were also reportedly dispatched to bases in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
US Military Aircraft Reportedly Arrive at Israeli Bases
According to reports, the 10 cargo planes departed from Fort Bliss in Texas, home to one of the US military’s largest air defence centres. The facilities include systems associated with interceptor missiles and air defence batteries.
However, Washington has not immediately confirmed the reported deployments. Furthermore, the aircraft’s cargo remains unclear, leaving questions about the precise purpose of the transfers.
The reported movements also do not confirm whether US President Donald Trump has authorised a military attack against Iran.
An Israeli official said both countries were coordinating their preparations closely, although no final decision had been announced.
“Israel and the United States are coordinating closely, and although no decision has yet been made on the matter, the Americans and Israel are preparing for any decision President Donald Trump makes,” the official said.
The official did not disclose what decision Trump might take or when it could come.
Gulf Countries Warned About Possible Strikes on Iran
Earlier this week, reports indicated that Washington had warned several Gulf Arab countries about possible military action against Iran. The reported warning described the prospect of short, limited strikes rather than an extended campaign.
Meanwhile, the US military has reportedly transferred a Patriot missile defence system from Texas to strengthen air defences in the Gulf region.
These reported deployments suggest preparations for potential escalation, although they do not establish that an attack is imminent.
US Forces Take Precautions Amid Rising Tensions
The reported military preparations also include precautionary measures involving American personnel stationed across the region.
According to the reports, US troops at regional bases received instructions to leave as a precaution against possible escalation. The US military has also reportedly been replenishing weapons stockpiles.
In addition, another aircraft carrier and a Marine Corps unit are expected to arrive in November.
These reinforcements would reportedly join approximately 20 US warships already operating in the Middle East, adding to the reported regional military presence.
Will Washington Authorise Another Military Operation?
Despite the reported deployments, the timing and scale of any potential US operation remain uncertain. Neither the reported aircraft movements nor the regional reinforcements establish that Washington has decided to attack Iran.
Israel’s coordination with the United States, however, highlights the preparations taking place amid renewed concerns over regional security.
For now, questions remain about the aircraft’s cargo, the purpose of individual deployments, and the next steps Washington may take. Any decision could have significant implications for regional stability and military tensions across the Middle East.
