Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni arrived in Islamabad on Monday night for an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral engagement. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi received the visiting delegation upon its arrival.
During his stay, Momeni is scheduled to hold meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
High-Level Meetings To Focus On Bilateral Cooperation
According to reports, Momeni will also engage with Pakistani officials during his visit. The meetings are expected to cover issues of mutual interest and regional cooperation.
Earlier reports suggested the Iranian minister could meet officials involved in previous diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran. However, no official agenda has been released regarding those discussions.
The visit reflects continued diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and Iran. Meanwhile, both countries have maintained regular high-level contacts on regional and bilateral matters.

Momeni’s visit comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East. Regional developments have prompted increased diplomatic activity among several countries.
Pakistan has repeatedly called for dialogue and peaceful resolution of regional disputes. Furthermore, Islamabad has emphasised diplomacy as the preferred path to reducing tensions.
The Iranian interior minister’s meetings with Pakistan’s civilian and military leadership are expected to focus on matters of shared concern. Additionally, both sides are likely to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in security and other sectors.
