Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has issued a warning to the United States and Israel, threatening a powerful military response if either country launches fresh attacks against Iran.
In a written statement released on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Khamenei warned that Iran would determine the timing and conditions for ending any renewed military confrontation.
Iran Threatens Immediate Response to New US-Israel Attacks
Khamenei instructed Iran’s armed forces to respond immediately and decisively to future military threats.
He emphasized that any retaliation would not be restricted by geographical boundaries.
The statement also directed military commanders to expand their list of potential targets, including American and Israeli assets.
The warning followed renewed concerns that Washington and Israel could resume military operations against Iran.
Iranian Supreme Leader Meets Senior Military Commanders
The statement reportedly followed a meeting between Khamenei and senior military officials.
Participants included Armed Forces Chief of Staff Ali Abdollahi, Army Chief Amir Hatami and Revolutionary Guards Commander Ahmad Vahidi.
It was the first reported meeting between the supreme leader and these commanders.
Khamenei has not appeared publicly since succeeding his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
His father was killed during American and Israeli strikes when the conflict began on February 28.
Diplomatic Efforts Continue Amid Military Tensions
Despite the warning, diplomatic efforts to prevent renewed fighting remain underway.
A Qatari delegation arrived in Tehran on Friday for discussions with Iranian officials.
Meanwhile, Iranian media reported that Tehran had received a letter from US Vice President JD Vance.
However, Iran had not formally responded to the communication.
The latest developments highlight growing regional uncertainty as military warnings continue alongside diplomatic negotiations.
