Iran’s Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) said it carried out overnight missile and drone strikes against US military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain, describing the operation as retaliation for recent American attacks on Iranian targets.
According to Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB, the IRGC claimed its naval and aerospace forces targeted eight US military sites, including Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait and facilities associated with the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.
The IRGC said the strikes involved ballistic missiles and drones and were launched in response to recent US military operations targeting Iranian facilities in Sirik and Qeshm.
Iranian state media described the operation as one of Tehran’s most significant direct attacks on US military assets in the Gulf since the conflict began.

However, claims circulating on social media that Iran “completely destroyed” the US Fifth Fleet have not been independently verified. No official confirmation from the United States or other independent sources has supported those reports.
The reported exchange of attacks came despite a recently announced memorandum of understanding, reportedly brokered by Pakistan, that aimed to halt the conflict that began on February 28. Both sides have since accused each other of violating the agreement.
Meanwhile, Qatar’s Interior Ministry reported that a Qatari citizen was killed and another person was injured after a delayed vessel was found off the country’s coast following a search-and-rescue operation.
In an official statement, the ministry said maritime patrols noticed that a vessel carrying two people had failed to return on schedule during routine monitoring by the General Directorate of Coasts and Border Security.
Search operations began on Saturday evening, and rescue teams located the vessel early Sunday.
The ministry said investigators determined that a Qatari citizen died after being struck by shrapnel caused by ongoing military operations in the area. Authorities added that another individual sustained injuries. Officials have not publicly identified the source of the shrapnel or linked the incident to any specific military action.
