Iran says it has carried out missile and drone strikes on 50 Israeli targets in retaliation for recent attacks.
Iranian state media reported on Friday that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched the operation, hitting military bases, intelligence centres, and other strategic sites inside Israel.
The strikes come as the war between Iran and the US-Israel alliance enters its sixth week. Iranian officials described the attacks as a โstrong and precise responseโ to Israeli aggression.
So far, Israel has not released detailed information about damage or casualties from the latest Iranian strikes. Israeli air defences were reported to be active, with some explosions heard in different parts of the country.
Regional Tensions Rise
The latest escalation follows a series of back-and-forth attacks. Iran has warned that it will continue responding forcefully if Israel carries out more strikes on Iranian territory.
Meanwhile, the conflict has already caused serious disruptions across the Middle East. Global oil prices have surged, and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz remains under threat.
Pakistan and several other countries have called for an immediate ceasefire and de-escalation to prevent the war from spreading further.
No independent confirmation of the scale of damage from Iranโs claimed strikes on the 50 targets has been available yet.
