Tehran Signals Pause After Retaliatory Action
Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters announced the cessation of military operations on Monday, following recent exchanges linked to Israeli actions in Lebanon.
In an official statement, the headquarters said Iran’s armed forces had carried out what it described as a decisive response after alleged Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon and Beirut’s southern suburbs, commonly known as Dahiyeh. Iranian officials accused Israel of conducting the attacks with the support of the United States.
The statement said the Islamic Republic acted in support of the Lebanese people and delivered a response intended to demonstrate its military capabilities. Iranian authorities maintained that the operation served as a warning to Israel and its allies against further actions in the region.
Consequently, military officials declared a halt to current operations, signaling a temporary pause in hostilities after the latest round of escalation.
Warning Accompanies Ceasefire Announcement
However, Iranian commanders coupled the announcement with a stern warning regarding future developments. The statement stressed that the suspension of operations should not be interpreted as a reduction in readiness or resolve.
Officials warned that any further attacks or actions against Lebanon would trigger a significantly stronger response from Iran and its allies. According to the statement, future military measures would be “more severe and crushing” if hostilities continue.
The announcement comes amid heightened regional tensions following recent exchanges involving Israel, Lebanon, and Iran-backed groups. Diplomatic efforts to prevent a wider conflict remain ongoing, while international observers continue to monitor developments closely.
