Authorities Urge Public to Ignore Unverified Reports
TEHRAN: Organizers overseeing commemorative events for Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei have announced that farewell, funeral and burial ceremonies will take place after the first ten days of Muharram, according to an official statement released on Tuesday.
The headquarters responsible for coordinating memorial events issued its second public statement outlining preparations for the ceremonies. Officials said extensive arrangements are underway to ensure that the events are conducted with dignity and in accordance with public expectations.
At the same time, the organizing committee warned against the circulation of speculation and unconfirmed reports regarding the timing, location and details of the ceremonies. It said inaccurate information published by some domestic and foreign media outlets has caused confusion among people wishing to participate in the commemorations.
According to the statement, any reports not issued through official channels should be considered unreliable.
Ceremonies Scheduled After Ashura Mourning Period
Organizers explained that the decision to hold the ceremonies after the first ten days of Muharram reflects Ayatollah Khameneiโs longstanding commitment to honoring the mourning rituals associated with Imam Hussein (AS).
As a result, farewell and burial events will be organized only after the conclusion of the Ashura commemorations. Officials added that the timing also respects the extensive Muharram observances held across Iran and throughout the wider Islamic world.
The committee stated that relevant authorities, public institutions and volunteer organizations are currently coordinating logistical and security arrangements to facilitate the participation of mourners and visitors.
Furthermore, planners said efforts are focused on ensuring appropriate services, crowd management and organizational support during the ceremonies.
The statement concluded by noting that final schedules, venues and additional details will be announced in the coming days through official channels once preparations are completed and approved by the relevant authorities.
