GILGIT: The result of re-polling in GBLA-15 Diamer has been announced after the Supreme Appellate Court ordered voting at one polling station. Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party-backed candidate Muhammad Dilpazir won the seat.
Election officials confirmed that re-polling took place at the Thak Loshi Family polling station. The exercise followed the courtโs directive to conduct fresh voting at the location.
Muhammad Dilpazir secured 114 votes at the polling station during the re-poll. Consequently, his overall vote tally reached 6,033, confirming his victory in the constituency.
Moreover, election authorities issued Form-49 to Muhammad Dilpazir after completing the vote count. The document officially confirmed his success in the election.
Meanwhile, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Faz candidate Mufti Wali-ur-Rehman finished second with 4,639 votes. Pakistan Peoples Party candidate Bashir Ahmed secured third place after receiving 4,109 votes.
Following the victory, the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party increased its representation in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly. The party now holds seven seats in the regional legislature.
As a result, the IPP has become the third-largest parliamentary group in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly. The party also remains part of the ruling coalition in the region.
Furthermore, the party leadership welcomed the election outcome and praised the successful completion of the re-polling process. Officials described the result as an important political milestone.
The president of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party congratulated Muhammad Dilpazir on his victory. He stated that the election result reflected public confidence in the partyโs leadership and policies.
The announcement concludes the electoral process in GBLA-15 after the court-ordered re-poll. Meanwhile, the updated assembly composition strengthens the IPPโs position within the Gilgit-Baltistan government’s parliamentary alliance.
