Claims suggest that Yemen, utilizing Russian satellite technology, thwarted Israel’s infiltration attempt.
A former U.S. Army officer has claimed that Yemen, aided by Russian satellite technology, thwarted an infiltration attempt by Israeli forces, resulting in the deaths of 70 Israeli personnel.
In an interview with Judge Napolitano on Judging Freedom, retired Colonel Douglas Macgregor alleged that approximately 70 Israeli special forces, along with an undisclosed number of American mercenaries, infiltrated Yemen but were tracked by Russian satellites, which provided intelligence to Iranian forces.
Macgregor described the Houthis in Yemen as “tough hombres on the battlefield,” stating that they set up an ambush that eliminated the entire infiltration team. He noted that footage of the deceased operatives showed they were primarily Israeli, with some American mercenaries and possibly even British contractors among them.
“Persistent surveillance today changes everything in warfare,” he remarked, adding that it makes it nearly impossible for forces to infiltrate regions without detection. He viewed the incident as a “wake-up call” for both Israel and the U.S., advocating for a disruption of space-based reconnaissance and intelligence operations.
Last week, Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah warned that the group would respond to Israel’s killing of its top military commander, stating that his death, along with that of the Hamas leader, “crossed” red lines.
